The pretty Drops placemat by Coro Cora is hand-woven from Iraca palm in Colombia. Artisans from Usiacurí, a colorful town on the Caribbean coast (where some of the houses have murals painted on their roofs!), use a traditional techniques to make the placemats. This method has been passed down through generations and begins by shaping a wire frame over which intricate patterns are woven with colored palm fibers.
Coro Cora works directly with predominately female weaving cooperatives around Colombia to create beautiful homewares that celebrate the vibrant culture of their country.
